What are beauty standards?
Well, it’s summer already. Everybody seems worried about getting tanned, getting a “standard body” for holidays, having waxed legged, etc.
These advertisements shouldn’t affect us. Why is it that fair is lovely or slim is the only thing that is pretty?
No, these are not standards you should be figuring out.
So, you are tan? And you think that you are ugly and not worthy? Are you kidding me?
The fair want to get tanned and the dark skinned want to get fair. If everybody wants to be something else, then what’s the point of being you? What do you do? Getting tan removed, getting spray tan and what not? People are fighting over racism there and you still say that in this period of time?
So, you are fat? And you think that you are ugly? You can’t fit into that shorts, tang tops, bikini? You don’t necessarily need to wear them to be beautiful. Also, there’s a reason for availability of all sizes just in case you want to wear them. You think that your stretch marks are ugly? They are proof that you lost or gained weight. It’s your body’s signatures and marks. It’s an achievement that you lost weight, or gave birth to a child and put on weight. You are not bad looking because of your size. It’s good to be fit, even if you are fat, you could do great things. Why do you think fat models exist? Or if slim is the only standard, it’s a shame. All the sizes should be respected. Thigh gaps, collar bones, abs, big boobs, big butt, 36’ 24’ 36, etc. they are not the only thing. You don’t need liposuctions, forced diets and starvation, etc.
And thin girls want to get curvy and vice versa. There’s no wrong with any size?
So, you want that standard body? Those lip injections that will hurt you physically, that jaw enhancement, the nose job, the boob job, the eyebrow enhancement, permanent makeup, BOTOX, etc.
Yeah, so many such words exist.
It only means you are killing your parent given genes of beauty.
So, you don’t have waxed legs? We evolved from the apes. So, we naturally have hair. It’s good to wax or shave, but the ones who don’t, then you have no right to question them.
And, standards we were talking. It’s no beauty.
I’ll tell you what beauty is. Beauty is being you and most importantly, being proud of it.
You don’t need any of it. Beautiful never hurts. You don’t need all that pain.
