Unofficial Farewell
Now that I had lots of friends who were eager and ready to hangout with me. I was all set! I dressed up with short dresses and high heels, put on lipstick and drank a lot. I got called to parties every weekend. I’d actually have choice to choose the ones I like and go there.
Its risky to disappoint others. I had to save friendships and I decided to go to atleast 2 out of 4 parties. There is an art behind avoiding plans. First, you have make a valid reason. After doing so, you need to make them feel like you are not declining their party invite, but are actually having some problem which is obstructing you to come for the party. So, I told them that I want to really come but
I was ready to go for the unoffical college farewell which was happening at a pub named Kismet. My girl friends dropped home to get dressed up. It was this typical movie scene kind of stuff. We put on eyeliners for each other. There was Keerti, who was like a dumcharades enthusiast to put makeup on everyone. We tried 8 dresses before choosing the right outfit. Swetha kept blabbering about the stores she went to buy outfits. She said that Zara was better than any other brand and I love the texture of their clothing. She went on to rant, or rather show off about her fashion knowledge. She spoke about how she had a better time clubbing in Mumbai at some really high class bars. Karina was the one who had least interest in dressing up and wanted to wear a jeans with a black full sleeves top. She didn’t want to put on any makeup and wanted to tie her hair. Girls love fidgeting and forcing such girls to dress up like them and come for the party. But, they are also ready to fight if they are wearing similar looking dresses or bags. I was really excited and behaved exactly like them. I screamed at a high tone, grew out my nails enough that they could be painted, put on a bracelet, wore a red short dress, huge black heels and left my shoulder length hair open. I was very excited and set off. I drove them to the pub. We heard loud music on the way and took selfies.. We finally reached. My college was an all girls college. They all drank and got really high. Two girls were inside the washroom and they passed out. Only Preeti and I were not drinking. I didn’t drink because I had to drive back home and she didn’t drink because she never did before.
I asked people in the party about what they are doing after degree. Everybody told me that they were going to get married obviously. I wondered if that was normal or not.
This was such new experience for me.
