The Trip
I wore my red lipstick, set my hair and put on my favourite hoop earrings. I looked in the mirror for the last time before leaving to the airport.
On hearing the announcement of my flight, I hurried to Gate no. 5 and finally boarded to go to Bali.
The flight duration was announced and we were also informed about Mount Agung, a volcano that influences the rainfall patterns.
After five long hours, we reached our destination and I was super excited.
I walked to a dimly lit restaurant with live Sufi music. I savoured Balinese food, which was similar to African cuisine.
After dinner I went to a monastery as I hadn’t made reservations for my stay.
When I woke the next morning, I saw monks dressed in white, performing rituals and saying hymns that soothed my soul. I strolled on the beach outside and decided to stay in the monastery for the rest of my life as I found true peace within.
