Don’t disrespect
I was reading about a lady who got a bronze in World Chess Championship. When she returned back to her city, she was only welcomed by her parents. People hardly watched chess and even if she won gold, I don’t think people would be so proud. She might have felt bad about getting a bronze, but, the least she would have expected is a descent welcome. Sometimes, its just parents one has. Looking around, searching for the right friends when your true friends are right there. Off course Indian kids don’t go around telling their parents that they smoked today and it was so good or about how much fun they had with their boyfriend. You can tell that to a friend. Most of the times you know you are doing something wrong only when you think about your parents and realise that it’s something you shouldn’t be doing it. Moving on, to chess or any other sport or field, I feel it gets recognized mainly due to the ‘attractive’ side.
Let me give you an example. Film stars are attractive. People like them. Most audiences like them based on their looks rather than their acting. People don’t realise that you are what you do and you are not about just your looks and keep looking superficially. People who make good movies and make a mark too and get recognized. But, there is a a lot of people who don’t understand good movies.
People like film but they don’t realise about the entire team that puts efforts, they only see the actors efforts.
It’s okay not to like something because you have a choice, but don’t disrespect someone.
