Chase your dreams, one step at a time
An average Indian person dreams a lot but settles for something much lesser than what they wanted. It’s not less deserved because they just don’t seem to brave their families and get a job other than a so called respectable job they don’t like. It’s totally nice if you want to become a doctor and end up there. But, become a doctor you don’t want to become, you’ll end up becoming a bad doctor because you don’t have the will. And I didn’t want to end up doing something I didn’t like.
I wanted to put up a startup. Though I was studying Advertising and Marketing in degree, I couldn’t market my product well enough. Books were put into a pile and would only be touched a day before the exam as teachers didn’t create an interest and I didn’t like it as there wasn’t much of practicality. I took the subjects thinking that it would help me learn a lot. But the subject was traditional and theoretical.
So, I learnt more about marketing through Google and read stories of great people. That’s how I learnt most of the marketing that I knew.
Now that I wanted to put a startup. I came up with really good ideas, but I lacked resources for the same. I started putting in effort to bring the resources together.
I liked how advertising got the creativity out of me and I participated in every college competition and won all of them. This got me popular at college and on social media too. My confidence and formal talk helped me grow.
Previously, starting something was difficult because I was all alone (No, I had Parth, but you know what I mean) , but now I had some more support if not a partner. It lead to more motivation.
This was the second stepping stone to my success after selling paintings at the fundraiser. The fundraiser gave me confidence, as a girl who was a fan of my blog wanted me to sign a painting for her.
These things kept motivated me to do more each day.
